About this class

The Authentic Maya Cooking Class is a two-hour, hands-on class in a Maya village kitchen in southern Belize, booked through Palmento Grove.

You cook alongside Maya cooks using their own methods — grinding corn by hand, mixing the spices, and working over an open flame with fresh, local ingredients.

You follow the food from raw ingredient to finished dish, then share the meal together. Along the way you see how tradition and community sit at the heart of every Maya meal.
