About this stay

The Kalipuna Roots & Renewal Journey is a three-night stay on Kalipuna Cultural Heritage Island in Hopkins, Belize, with breakfasts and dinners, our Garifuna cultural and culinary experience, the herbal healing trail and massage, a hook-and-cook snorkeling trip, and your choice of sunset or bioluminescence kayaking, at $799 per person based on two people sharing a room.

It's everything we do, at an unhurried pace: the kitchen, the plants, the lagoon and the sea. On the hook-and-cook trip you catch your meal, then cook it.

You stay in one of our two solar-powered rooms, Anichigu or Isieni, each with a private bath and porch.

Questions guests ask

Planning your stay

Is the price per person?

Yes — $799 per person, based on two people sharing a room.

Sunset or bioluminescence kayaking — how do I choose?

Tell us which you'd prefer when you book. Bioluminescence varies with conditions and moonlight, so it is brighter on some nights than others.

Can you cater for vegetarians?

Yes — tell us in advance. If you don't eat fish, we'll prepare vegetables or an alternative such as chicken, also with advance notice.

How do we get to the island?

By kayak — a short, calm paddle across Fresh Water Creek Lagoon, included in the price. If you'd rather not paddle, a boat crossing is available at extra cost.

What should I bring?

Sun protection, insect repellent (natural repellent is available on site), light clothing, swimwear, and shoes that can get wet and dry quickly.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancel 30 or more days before for a full refund minus a 10% processing fee, or 15 days before for a 50% refund or full credit toward a future booking. Cancellations less than 7 days before are non-refundable. The full policy is on our Terms page.
