About this day
The Garifuna Full Day Immersion is a seven-hour day with our family on Kalipuna Cultural Heritage Island in Hopkins, Belize, at $149 per person, starting with your choice of traditional kayak fishing or our breakfast experience.
Choose how your day begins. With traditional kayak fishing, you go out with a Garifuna elder who fishes the old way and shows you the methods — and the thinking behind them. What you catch comes back with you and goes into the hudut you cook later. With the breakfast experience, you start the day at our table instead.
Then comes the cultural side: drumming, dance and cooking with our family, and the stories behind each. It’s the fullest single day we offer.
